The Jazz Assignment

thejazzassignment is my labor of love to help people of all ages learn the art and the craft of improvisation.

To me, there aren’t many experiences quite like improvising in front of an audience, where you know that you just nailed it. And the feedback that you receive lets you know that it’s not just your imagination or wishful thinking at work.

The heart and soul of jazz is in-the-moment self-expression. No nets, no safety lines, none of that. Pure you, putting yourself out there, as you are, the way you hear things. You add to life that which you want to hear.

I know this site doesn’t look like much yet. A few etudes so far. Good ole web 1.0 look and feel. There is so much more planned here.

Please stay tuned as more content rolls out. I have a day job, and I do what I can. I want to - and will do - so much more with this.

In the meantime, enjoy the free etudes on this site, take a look at the beginnings of my first tutorial, and watch my YouTube channel, which at last count has a little over 375 followers.

I am thrilled to see where this ride leads us.

Sincerely,

Scott
